What is SDH?

         SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) is an international standard for high speed telecommunication

over optcal/electical networks which can transport digital signals in variable capacities.It is synchronous

system which intend to provide a more flexible,yet simple network infrastructure.

            What is PDH?

          The Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy(PDH) is a technology used in telecommunications networks

to transport largequantities of data over digital transport equipment such as fiber optic and microwave

radio systems. 

          PDH is typically being replaced by Synchronous Digital Hierarchy(SDH) or Synchronous optical

networking (SONET)equipment in most telecommunications networks.

           What are the applications of SDH on Türk Telekom Networks? 

           In the main backbone and metropolitann Networks which occurs Türk Telekom transmission Networks ,the SDH  

          transmission equipments plugged into fiber optic cables are using.
